I am using Publisher, worked fine for some time but now if I want to edit any previous article and then submit the 'edit article' returns a blank white screen of death and of course the article is not updated. At the moment I can create new articles.
I am very worried because I think its a database issue here and I am terrified that I might face more problems as the site gets bigger. It was working for a couple of months.......xoops 2.4.4 and php5 any idea whats best to do? I did uninstall the module and installed it again but with the same error that once an article is updated it comes the blank screen.

Hi Trabis
I have debugging on but as you are aware with the blank screen nothing comes up no code nothing. Is there another way perhaps to check this error? Did also check the error log on my server but there is nothing specifically related to this. I did have some problems when I was logged in with publisher and MyTabs 2.2 and also Defacer, the awful black screen.......Should I go and install a lower version of xoops say v2.3.3?? Thanks

You should keep 2.4.4
Check permissions, maybe you don't have permissions to edit the article? In publisher permissions must be set for admin also. What changed in your site? New module installed? A blank screen is allways dificult to trace

Hi Trabis many thanks for your quick reply
the site in question is www.maltasport.com and yes all the permissions were granted and no module was uploaded recently. I am familiar with xoops and for the last 4 years I used it and found great help from the community and also from you. one last thing that is perhaps the problem, we are adding loads of articles all the time regarding the world cup and also I have cloned Publisher for 6 modules, do you thing there is some sort of overload in the database?

I don't think it is a database problem, It may be related with the clones. What are the names of the clones? Are you having problems in edting articles in a specific clone or in all of them?
(I have to go now but will be back latter)

in all the clones as well as the original one.

Thanks, the problem is in xoops image class. Image class does not extend XoopsPersistableObjectHandler and does not allow to do some specific queries. Publisher is using the getObject() method and this is exhausting your php memory because you have so MANY images!! I have changed publisher and hardcoded a query to avoid loading all images information as objects and save your memory. I fixed all you 6 clones and hopefully it is all working ok now!
I'll commit this changes to svn soon.
